Boo to you! Welcome to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!
Stacks Image 69
(This 2018 info will updated when Disney publishes 2019 data. With the exception of prices and event times, most info will remain the same.)

The Magic Kingdom is host to this special after-hours, family-friendly Halloween Party with Mickey and many other Disney characters. These special nights are from 7 p.m. to midnight and require a separate ticket (that’s only available in limited quantities).
The entire park is decorated for these special nights. Gone are the usual white twinkling lights and playful, jazzy music. They’re replaced with green, blue, red, and orange lighting, and haunted mansion music. In addition to most of the attractions being open, Halloween-themed activities are scheduled. The evening includes free face painting, trick or treating, and character dance parties. Some of your favorite characters are dressed up for Halloween, including many favorite Disney Villains. The highlights of the evening are "Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade," and special Halloween-themed fireworks display, "Happy HalloWishes". Both are Disney magic at its absolute finest.

Party Dates, Times, and Tickets
You can find the dates and prices of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on the Disney website. Your Help Around the Mouse concierge planner will purchase your ticket and link it to your My Disney Experience on your behalf. A linked party ticket allows you to use your MagicBand for admission to the party.
Ticket prices are dependent on the date of the party. Many parties sell out. Party tickets are non refundable. Party tickets are completely separate from Theme Park tickets. This means that someone with a Base ticket (only one park per day) will be able to go to Epcot in the morning, and then use the party ticket to go the Party that evening.
Rarely is a party canceled do to weather. If you’re concerned, you can put off buying tickets until that last minute. But, Disney doesn’t give warning that a party is nearing a sell out. Make sure the party is not important to you if you take this approach.

pastedGraphicA morning off, perhaps?
To help the little ones (and the big ones) prepare for the late night, try to relax at your resort or even take a nap in the afternoon before the party. Many suggest staying away from a park entirely that day. If you aren’t able to do this, do make sure you are back in your room for a break by 1:00. You are paying a lot of money for this event --- you don’t want to jeopardize your evening by wearing out your feet and your stamina before you even get there. You’ve been warned...
Arrival
Although the party officially begins at 7:00 pm, party guests are allowed through the turnstiles as 4 p.m. If you call Disney information you may be told that guests cannot arrive until 7 p.m. But believe us -- you can show up with your park ticket earlier. Grab a party map at the entrance. As party time approaches, guests with a party ticket will obtain a wrist band from a Cast member. Starting at 6pm, all guests without wrist bands will be gently asked to leave the park..
Dinner Counter service is a good bet for a party night, as it allows you to get on with the business at hand... The Party! However, if you wish to eat a Table Service meal, let’s make sure it’s an early reservation. This will allow you to be finish your meal and be ready to enjoy the festivities by 6:00. There are snack locations open during the party if you need something beyond candy this evening.

Costumes are everywhere!
The vast majority of children are wearing some kind of costume, as well as a surprising number of older kids and adults. As a matter of fact, this is the only time Disney allows adults to dress up like a Disney character in the parks!

Just about any family friendly costume will do... It certainly doesn't need to be Disney related. And since this is billed as a ‘not so scary’ party, Disney prefers you leave Freddie Kruger at home, and save the blood and gore for another time. No weapons -- though light sabers, toy swords and wings are allowed. For adults, no heavily layered costumes or ‘costume props’ that cover the entire body, no costumes that drag on the ground, and no masks of any kind. If it looks like you could easily be hiding something in there, they are not going to let you in.

Let's maximize everyone's comfort by ensuring their costume is something they'll want to keep on for six or seven hours -- and watch those fancy-schmancy princess shoes! Since it can be very HOT on a Florida evening in Sept. and Oct. you might want to where something light. You don't want to dress up like a Tigger and start smelling like a Piglet!

Rides
Not all attractions are open during the party, but most are. Know that once the party starts you will not be able to use any fast passes. But you shouldn’t need to; lines are generally minimal.
But do you really want to spend a big chunk of your evening doing what you could do on any day in Magic Kingdom? Or would you rather focus on taking part in the festivities that are only available during a party? Something to think about....

Trick-or-Treating:
What's Halloween without the candy? Your Party map will show the trick or treating locations, or simply look for white balloons that mark the locations throughout the park. Disney provides smallish treat bags. So if you want TONS of candy, bring your own bags from home. Just remember, someone is going to have to carry them.
Please don’t wait in a long line for candy! If a line is crowded when you walk up, just go later. Oh, and the later you visit one, the more candy they give out, too! They're always sorta stingy when the party begins, but then realize they didn't need to be as the night progresses. And there's nothin' wrong with visiting stations more than once either. It’s a party! How many times are you going to trick or treat in the Magic Kingdom? Enjoy your self!

Character Greetings
Be sure to grab a special Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party map when you arrive so you know where all the points of interest are, including the character greeting locations throughout the park. These special photos are very popular, and it is suggested you prioritize one or two, and get in line for your most important photo at 6:30. That way, when the character comes out at 7:00 you will be able to waste less actual "party time".

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
It's Halloween ... If there's a better time to have the infamous Disney Villains out and about in the kiddie-friendly Magic Kingdom, we don't know when it is. In this stage show, the Sanderson Sisters from the Halloween movie ‘Hocus Pocus’
will be joined by Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, Hades, Cruella, Jafar, and more Disney villains. The show will take place in front of Cinderella Castle, combining projections, effects, and plenty of dancing.

Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade

The 'Main Event' for the evening is a special Halloween-themed parade shown twice nightly at 9:15 & 11:15 p.m. Seriously, this is an absolutely incredible parade.

Everything begins with the echoing "cloppity, clop, clop, clop" as the Headless Horseman rides along the parade route on an enormous black horse! The parade begins near Splash Mountain, so this is where he will be coming from.
The second parade of the evening will be far less crowded than the first. If you can, visit the other areas during the first parade, see the fireworks, and then grab a preferred viewing spot for the second parade.

If you plan on attending the first parade, then do make sure you arrive in the Magic Kingdom at 5:00. Maximize attractions from 5 - 7, enjoy the party festivities from 7- 8:45, and then secure a parade viewing location. Otherwise, you will only have about 90 minutes of party time

Happy HalloWishes Fireworks
This specially themed Halloween fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m., and features 360 degree fireworks at several points toward the end. For this reason, we suggest you watch anywhere from in back of the Partners Statue, and between the Plaza and Crystal Palace. Yes, it will be crowded. Yes, it will be worth it.
