They say it’s your Birthday!
You’re gonna have a good time!

Birthday’s -- or ‘Un - Birthdays’ -- are always fun at Disney World. And no matter what your budget, Disney can help you create a moment, a day, or a week to remember. Sometimes moments are preplanned, and sometimes you get magically ‘pixie dusted’ with a few special, surprise treats. So let them know there’s a birthday, and see what happens!
This Clue In will focus on the free or inexpensive things that are available to everyone. If you are interested in finding out more extravagant celebration opportunities, we invite you to look over the links we provide at the end of the Clue In. It’s Disney after all; it seems they can do almost anything!

When Can I Celebrate?
It doesn’t matter if your birthday is today, was 2 weeks ago, or won’t come around for another month. If you want to celebrate the special day at Disney, Disney wants to help it be magical. And, there is no sense just celebrating for one day - that’s what you do in the real world! At Disney World, if you want to celebrate every day you are there, you can.
Set the Stage
Your Help Around the Mouse planner will note your celebration on your resort reservation and on all your dining and special event reservations. Provide the name and age (if you care to) for the birthday boy or girl. You never know what surprises may come your way!

At your Resort
Make sure you mention again when you check in that there is a birthday being celebrated in your group. You never know what may appear in your room. Then, remember to Press ‘0’ to contact the front desk and request a special birthday phone call for your child from a Disney Character.
Buttons!
Stop by City Hall on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, ‘Guest Services' in EPCOT, 'Guest Services' in Disney's Hollywood Studios and ‘Guest Services’ in the Animal Kingdom for a ‘"IT'S MY BIRTHDAY" button. They may even have them at your resort. This always generates special attention from the Cast Members in the Parks. They’re free and the recognition is fun!
Characters
Make sure you child has an autograph book when he wears his button and meets the characters. He will get a special autographed birthday message in his autograph book. What a great keepsake!

Epcot
When you’re in Epcot, purchase a passport in EPCOT to have stamped in each country around the ‘World Showcase’ and make sure the Cast Member’s who signs it know it’s your child’s birthday. Not only will your child enjoy going through each country, but they will receive birthday greetings in many different languages.

Dining
Even though you have noted the birthday on your dining reservation, make sure you also tell the host or hostess when you check in at the restaurant podium. Although any restaurant can help you celebrate, special fun can be had at Character Dining locations, 50s Prime Time, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and the Disney Dinner shows.

And now, for something a little extra...
These little extras can add a relatively inexpensive touch to your dining table and your birthday celebrations. Although most of these are available at all Table Service dining locations with no notice, not all restaurants participate. It is far better to call in advance. Not only does this allow you to confirm participation, but ordering ahead allows the restaurant time to properly prepare for your celebration. Each of these items will be included on your dining bill, and should be paid for at the restaurant.
Celebration Cakes
Celebration cakes service 4 - 6 guests and cost $35.00 (plus tax and gratuity.) All cakes are either chocolate or vanilla and come with optional personalization on one of the ears. They are available at most resorts without pre-order, but to avoid disappointment, pre-order is highly recommended.

Other cakes are also available and must be ordered in advance by contacting the individual restaurant. Your Help Around the Mouse planner can assist you with a special cake order.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can order a Celebration Cake to be delivered to your room through room service or through the resort guest services.
